The staff in the restaurant were very unhelpful and a tad miserable. They made no effort. The breakfast food was ok but nothing more. I couldn’t locate gluten free bread options nor could I find a member of staff to help. I had to ask for cutlery when I chose what food I could. The service was unimpressive. However, I attended a wedding the day before and the food was very good indeed - gf was catered for brilliantly which I why I have given it a 3 star rating.

unfortunately very tired property, needs a lot of money to be spent on it to bring it up to the 21st century. No air-conditioning, no separate shower, just stand in a bath generally poor standard of furniture breakfast very average for a £200/night hotel

The maintenance issues did not take away from the enjoyment of our stay. However, for the price, I think it fell short of expectation. The taps did not turn properly, the sinks, shower and tub did not drain, the 4 poster bed was repaired by wrapping sheets around the posts (wth?) I think it is very important to note THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING! They did their best with fans, and then - with a very grateful heart - a portable air conditioning unit. The buffet was very good but had zero variation on any day, weekday or weekend. The pub restaurant was also very good. The spa was a wonderful retreat from the heat. A massage and a swim are highly recommended. There are many walking paths and the area is very quiet and calm. Front desk staff were lovely :D

We had a wonderful family stay and would highly recommend this hotel. I accidentally booked two rooms when we only needed one, and the staff were incredibly kind and happy to cancel one of the bookings and refund the payment, which we really appreciated. The rooms were comfortable and well presented, the swimming pool was excellent, and the facilities were fantastic. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, with a great selection and high-quality food. Overall, a great hotel with outstanding customer service, and we would happily stay here again.

Staff were extremely helpful, hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained, particularly the pool area. Lunch and breakfast were good value. The room hadn't been cleaned, though we were told it was ready for us, but the reception staff offered us an alternative room when I rang them about it - as we were going out, we agreed they would clean the room then, and it was fine when we returned. Overall, an enjoyable stay. Thanks

The room wasn’t ready when we turned up so had to wait 2 hours. Guests that complained the most seemed to get complimentary drinks. We didn’t. The reception always seemed busy as usually only one person on duty so you had to queue. The room was tired especially the bathroom. But the hotel although old was charming. Staff great. Breakfast good. The estate fabulous. Would go again as we felt very relaxed.

Booked for long weekend with family. Check in was at 3pm but had to wait 2.5 for rooms to be cleaned and got access to rooms at 5:30pm. No drinks from bar no compensation offered (complained and got it later), staff were very unhelpful. Delay completely ruined break. They offered a late checkout next day as compensation so we thought we would use the pool to find that children are not allowed in the pool until late afternoon to allow club members to use the pool, awesome. Hotel is nice and facilities are good from what we could tell but the hotel tried to get me to go Expedia to claim compensation - why is Expedia’s fault that you are extremely late cleaning your rooms. Awful experience and the staff were useless in offering anything that made the stay more pleasurable, ruined the whole break with the family that we paid a lot of money for

It my friends special birthday so this was a treat. Room was lovely. Went to the loo & there was a poo in the loo. The fridge smelt of fish. Complained & was told they will see if they could move us. After an hour sent to reception. They finally moved us, to an updated room. A lovely suite. Go into bathroom to find bin full of the last persons rubbish. The whole point to take my friend there was to take her to the spa. Which wasn’t open until the day we left.

Staff were amazing and the setting unbelievable but the rooms are in real need of updating to a modern standard eg no bedside plugs or usb ports for charging devices and the bathroom I stayed in had mould and warped bits of wooden decor

We had wonderful 2 nights stay at Hanbury Manor. Beautiful historic building with amazing grounds, lovely spa and restaurant. We had a small problem with our room and Courtney at reception dealt with quickly and professionally. And our room was spacious and clean with lovely view. We had delicious cocktails at the bar made by Chris. He is excellent barman and we enjoyed his recommendations. Dinner at Zodiac was excellent, dinner was superb with excellent service and attentive staff, we were looked after by Jetmir & his crew. Thank you to all at Hanbury Manor, can’t fault anything at all, we will definitely return and definitely recommend.
