"Great space, very quiet and private, no road noise. Great pool and the villas were very cute, but pretty small. If your goal is a brilliant blue beach and white sand, then this is not your resort. The Ocean / Bay views are nice, but the beach was very rocky and shallow, and no real “Sandy” beach to hang out on. Only bad experience we had was with the lady at the check in desk, we asked for a taxi to town and she insisted we pay her directly for the ride, which we found out from the driver was about 3x the normal price. Very close to the bar scene, maybe a 15 min ride, and if call on your own and don’t use the clerk at the front desk, it’s about 300 Baht each way, or $9 American"

"Friendly Staff and Excellent Location, With a Few Areas for Improvement I stayed at Centara Life Lamai Resort Samui and found the staff to be extremely friendly, kind, and helpful. Whenever I had an issue, they genuinely did their best to address it, and I appreciated how accommodating they were throughout my stay. The location is one of the hotel’s biggest strengths. It’s only about a two-minute walk to Lamai Beach and right in the middle of the area, with plenty of restaurants, shopping, and nightlife within easy walking distance. The rooms were also very spacious and comfortable, which was a definite plus. There are a few things I think could be improved. I would suggest providing small washcloths in the bathrooms and having security available both during the day and at night. The gym could also use an upgrade, although I really appreciated that the staff provided me with a new yoga mat when I needed one. The biggest issue for me was the nighttime noise. Because this is a smaller hotel located close to the street and nightlife, there was significant noise during my stay, generally from around 10:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. I was able to discuss and resolve my concerns with the manager, who was very kind and professional, but light sleepers should definitely keep the location and potential noise in mind when booking. Overall, the staff really helped make the experience a positive one. The hotel has a fantastic location for enjoying Lamai Beach and everything the surr"

"The bedrooms in the family room were extremely cool in temperature and my kids enjoyed that. We were allowed to take towels to the beach as long as they were returned and there’s a nice noodle shop down the street open between 11:30-3pm. We enjoyed our stay."

"We stayed in villa #10 at Zara Beach Resort. It was spacious, comfortable, and conveniently located next to Lamai Beach. The reception was also helpful, and we enjoyed the option to have healthy food from Meal Prep, which is an on-site vendor operating in the communal pool area. The resort was also located close to the Lamai Night Market, Moon Market, and Lamai Fresh Food Market. The wooden platform between our villa's doors and our own pool needed repair, as some of the wooden planks would move a lot when we stepped on them. That is our only suggestion for Zara Beach, to better maintain the outdoor amenities of villa #10. Overall, we are so glad we stayed at Zara Beach. We even ordered something that isn't avaliable to ship to our home country from Bangkok to our resort, and the receptionist was helpful in making sure we got the package."
