"Check-in was the hospitality equivalent of plain toast. Not terrible, not memorable. The staff weren’t rude, but if personality was included in the room rate, it must have been sold out that day. The first thing that greeted us in the lobby wasn’t a smile, but the unmistakable aroma of curry and cooked fish. It was fairly obvious that living quarters existed somewhere behind the front desk, and the scent had apparently secured permanent residency in the lobby. The room itself looked like it had been frozen in time somewhere around 1987 and never checked on again. The right side of the bed was shoved directly against the wall, leaving absolutely no room to walk. Whether this was a creative decorating choice or an attempt to hide a carpet stain or wall damage remains one of the property’s great mysteries. The floor was so hard it felt less like carpet and more like someone had laid a thin blanket over a concrete sidewalk. The bed squeaked with every movement, turning a simple rollover into a percussion performance. To top it off, the blanket came pre-decorated with a stain that we definitely didn’t request. Overall, it provided a roof, a bed, and a story to tell. If you’re looking for luxury, keep driving. If you’re looking for a place that makes you appreciate every future hotel stay, this one delivers beautifully."

"Building exterior needs repairs around windows; it was very stormy when we stayed and the water dripped all night so we had to empty container collecting the rainwater. Otherwise it was very nice; our Grands thoroughly enjoyed playing in the pool!!"
