"Sign by dining room listed its hours of operation for all 3 daily meals, but when we came by for dinner well within the listed time frame, there was literally nobody around anywhere. There was no indication that it might only be certain days or by reservation only, in fact it's listed as a full public restaurant on their website, with public menu visible, we'd even planned what we wanted to order. And it was a Friday night, so even if they were only open some days, surely they'd be open for dinner Fridays!
Staff was friendly but scattered. Room was small but comfortable. The beautiful antique styles of the main house are far less so in the carriage house so that was a little disappointing. The toilet in our bathroom was huge and ancient and was constantly running until I fixed it myself. Price was very reasonable.
Be aware - there's a train that runs nearby and the whistle is very noisy. This is not the fault of the owners of course, but something to be aware of for light sleepers. "

"Our stay was five star in every respect. No detail was missed upon our welcoming and check in. The room was immaculate and as advertised. Breakfast was excellent and prepared as requested right down to my perfectly done sunny side up egg. Overall we could not have asked for more. Mike and his wife were the perfect hosts. We will return Highly recommended!"
