We had a room with 2 double beds and a large bathroom with semi outdoor shower. If you are bothered by insects, this might not be the place for you as you can't avoid them coming into the bathroom, but we didn't mind. :-) The beds have mosquito nets, so no problem! The place is very spacious with garden/porch, feels very safe! A bit hard to find as there are no signs on the main road and only a small sign at the entrance gate. I would rate "Insight" at 5 stars. Heaps of reasons to do so, especially because of the professional and attentive staff. However, I can only give them 4.9 stars... the music selection does not match the hotel environment. It's a beachfront hotel with a lot of surfers, but they play old Roy Orbison and Elvis music. The stay here was great. Host very gracious. There are two separate bedrooms with double beds, a kitchen with a gas burner, refrigerator,dishes and pans, small dining room, patio with a day bed, washing machine. Bedrooms have a/c. I rented an Airbnb in unawatuna which ended up turning in an awful experience. I had to find a new place last minute and I was really happy when I arrived to snooze. It’s clean, the boss is a respectful and kind person who is available to help guests when in need, the room was spacious with ac and hot water. Ended up paying half of what I paid for the Airbnb nightmare. I extended another night at snooze. I definitely recommend it specifically if you’re a woman traveling alone as I am.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Peacock Wings Guest House. The owner couldn’t have been more helpful. She gave us plenty of information about the local area and made a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast every morning. The room was large and comfortable with a nice balcony. The location is just across the street from a small beach that we visited everyday. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend!
