Ogunquit - The Milestone

"The Milestone is a nice, clean property, but nothing outstanding. It provides adequate parking, with exterior room access, more a motel than a hotel. Rooms were plain, but clean. The room was subject to much noise from the parking lot and adjacent rooms. The room heating/cooling system was effective and easy to operate. The bed was typically uncomfortable for a motel of this type. TV system provides a lot of channels, but is very difficult to navigate. The free continental breakfast was sparse. Overall about 3/5 when compared top similar properties."

Carriage House Motel Cottages & Suites

"What a find!!!! Especially in a town/region where prices are double and triple the rates at Carriage House. The owners and staff could not have been more accommodating, kind and helpful. The property is incredibly clean and well maintained and charming - and pet friendly! You can choose a cottage, 1br, 2 or more or sweet motel rooms with actual real Mr Coffee's, not those awful single pod weird hotel coffee makers; fridge, microwave, renovated bathroom and impeccably clean -- all, as I say, for a rate about a third of what MUCH lesser properties right nearby cost. Believe me, I am in Ogunquit frequently for work. I've stayed a LOT of places there. A total find! I'll be back with my crew and I endorse the place 100%."

"I think this property is in the process of becoming a wonderful inn, but is not there yet. Under new ownership the past couple of years, the two brothers who own it seem serious about creating a first class stay experience, but still have some work to do. The fireplace pilot should have been turned on so we could enjoy it, since that was one of the reasons I booked our room there and no one was available to request that it be working. Lighting in the room was quite poor, with some burnt out light bulbs and the magnifying makeup mirror light was dim at best. There should be soap, shampoo, and conditioner available at the jacuzzi tub. The room overall was lovely. Nice touch with the comfy bathrobes. Breakfast was delicious! Worth giving a second chance."
