"It’s been a long time since I stayed at a hotel with silverware on the restaurant tables - all immaculately cleaned and polished. In fact the whole hotel was clean and well maintained. The waitresses were professional and friendly. I would definitely choose this hotel in the future."

"A good, clean property with a spacious room. King sized bed roomy but mattress a little soft (but just my preference for a harder mattress). Bathroom very spacious with a bath as well as a shower (I prefer a bath). The owner upgraded us to this room free of charge so that was a lovely gesture. We found the decor a little old fashioned-again not quite our style. Biscuits accompanied our tea/coffee making facilities, a nice touch, but only normal tea and coffee, no herbal teas offered. On arrival the owner told us about the parking permit (very good value £5 for 2days) although we had already put money in a meter across the road from the property so had we known about this beforehand we would not have paid at the meter unnecessarily. (Perhaps I had missed reading such useful info in the blurb beforehand?) The breakfast was very tasty and plentiful although I would have like a croissant and/or pan au chocolat to be offered."

"We had the family room for 3 adults. Room 211. Lovely room extra large king size bed, separate room with bunk beds. Really comfy. View over car park but didn't matter as we were out all day. The hotel has been refurbished since we last went so very modern in the bar / restaurant now. Views of the sea immediately as you go out the front of the hotel. 5 minute walk to the beach. You can use the hotel car park, at the rear of the hotel, which is £8 for 24 hours, from 11am on the day you arrive to 11am the next day. The reception give you a voucher which you use to scan into the pay machine when you leave. Helpful to know as hard to find places to park when busy. Love Whitby, we will be back 🙂"

We opted for breafast, what a good decision that was, it was delicious, one of the best full English breakfasts I have had, certainly filled us up ready for the day. A couple of evenings we popped into the bar for a drink, the staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend Granby Hotel if visiting Whitby"
