"Our room was clean and cozy. The breakfast was excellent and the bar had a great menu and drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location provided quick access to buses and the Royal Mile. A convenience store was located a few doors down from the hotel."

"Great hotel right on the “Royal mile.’ This was the second time we’ve stayed there and I can’t think of anything I’d improve,"

"It’s a lovely spot. However, we were placed in a room located on ground floor right beside all the door entries & also the lifts which meant the noise was absolutely atrocious to even try & relax. This was also a birthday stay and when checking in, the people before us for some reason were rewarded a free beverage for their booking and we weren’t. My mother was massively disappointed as I had made the hotel aware we were coming over for her birthday and they didn’t offer us anything. Service in the restaurant took a bit of time but that’s okay as I expect that in most places and the food was lovely. The bar staff (girls who were on the night of my stay) were lovely but again I overheard their manager being rude to them and I felt this was really inappropriate in front of anyone having a drink that evening. I would come back, but I wouldn’t be happy if they placed me in the same room so I would make that very clear if I was to return. However, mum has said she wouldn’t return due to all the issues and her being older. The hotel isn’t too far away from the city centre but you will need to get on a tram from the airport to the town and then a bus towards the hotel if you struggle with walking. Taxis are available, I would imagine it will cost a hefty amount if this was from the airport to the hotel."

"We were in room 113 and it was horrible. I booked 10 months in advance and got the worst room in the place. The windows were painted over so we didn’t see the bin area that would have been our view. Room was also next to the maintenance room. It was so loud. Staff were still tossing things in the bins (as loud as possible) at 11:30p. It must also be their smoking area because I smelled cigarette smoke coming in around midnight. At 5am I was startled awake thinking there was a huge thunder storm, turns out it was staff again in the bin area doing god knows what, but it was so loud! The door they were using squeaked loudly so we heard every time they opened and closed that door. We were so exhausted we had to skip our early tour of Edinburgh Castle to try and get a little more sleep. We ended up skipping the tour after that as well - we were just so exhausted we just wanted to get out of the city. We will never stay at this hotel again. If you ever get room 113 or near there, ask for another room!"

"Breakfast was great, lots of choices. Typical Scottish fare, very good. Staff was friendly. Parking was £8 and easily accessible. Overall very nice place. Indian food offered in the hotel restaurant was outstanding and authentic. "

"A very nice hotel, conveniently located to the High Street in Edinburgh. Has a very nice bar/restaurant (you kinda have to like bars, and I don't ... but the drinks were good and they did have some very nice dishes on the menu) and excellent breakfast (even includes custom-made omelets). Room was comfy and quiet. I thought it was bit tight. But, worked quite well after being out and about all day. I wish I'd known there was hotels from this chain in London (near St. Paul's) and in Dublin (near Dublin Castle). I'd have probably stayed at those as well."
