After many years of travelling, we stayed at our first bed & breakfast at No.5 East. Beautiful old mansion with beautiful rooms to stay in. Nice area with restaurants and shopping around the corner. Continental breakfast was great and the Latte’s exceptional. The hosts were amazing and easy to talk to. We will certainly stay again on our next visit to Winnipeg. 5 stars from us

Excellent house with lots of character, room was nice and was quiet and relaxing. Would love to stay in the summer and enjoy the view of the river. Hosta were excellent and the breakfast was fresh and tasty!
It was an amazing spot to stay for short vacation in Winnipeg for us. The design of the place is aesthetically pleasing, the location is very close to many amenities, the room is comfortable. Definitely recommend!
Vahid and No. 5 east are just a sheer delight! The house is lovely, breakfast was great, and Vahid is so welcoming and cheerful. Only minor complaint is that, in the winter, if you aren't in a car, the nearest restaurants and shops are a bit of a walk, especially if it's winter.
Vahid is a gem he makes you feel most welcome. The room we had was so quiet and felt insulated from the rest of the bnb rooms. The location is right by the Assiniboine river and is centrally located to get anywhere.
Wonderful stay in a gorgeous bed and breakfast. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. The suites are set up with everything you could want for a comfortable stay. Breakfast had many options to choose from.
Great hosts who were very welcoming, beautiful property with amazing rooms. Just a nostalgic feel coming in the house and great breakfast with the hosts serving in whatever coffee we wanted. Definitely worth staying the night!
The room was nice and clean with a beautiful sent to the room that made a very peaceful atmosphere and experience. The hosts were very friendly and kind, especially Chief. Breakfast was wonderful. The say was easy and seemless. Hope to stay there again in the future.
Spacious and quiet room in a beautifully decorated heritage home. The owners were very welcoming and the holiday decor they had set out for the Christmas season was so pretty and tasteful. Like spending time in a holiday movie. Highly recommend.
I had to extend my stay in Winnipeg unexpectedly and booked last minute on a whim. I absolutely loved it and wish I had found this place sooner! Vahid was extremely kind and welcoming as soon as I arrived and my room was GORGEOUS. Everything was clean, facilities were secure, and there were some nice amenities included in the stay. If you're looking for a mix of cozy, chic, and elegant, this is the place to go!
My husband and I recently stay at No. 5 East over the weekend. We had such a great stay, the house was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. We ended up getting stuck in Winnipeg an extra day due to the weather and Vahid and Marcia welcomed us back for another night. They were such great hosts, the breakfast was perfect, fresh, great selection and amazing coffee. I have already recommended this place to my friends and family and cannot wait to return. 10/10 recommend!
I loved my stay in this gorgeous historic home. It is beyond beautiful!! My room was comfortable, fresh and clean! Every little detail is well thought out, from the bath salts provided, to the snacks, beverages and games in the common living room. The hosts are lovely, super friendly, and very helpful! I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. I have booked another stay in the new year!
Amazing heritage home. Beautiful wood detailing, stained & leaded glass.
Room large & spotless with giant bathtub, very generous separate shower, crystal chandelier in front of window behind the vessel sink.
Common areas elegant yet welcoming. Fantastic kitchen with generous self-serve continental breakfast, excellent coffee.
Host and hostess very welcoming and helpful.
This is a beautiful place to stay! It is a well taken care of stunning through story, home in a great neighborhood! It's absolutely gorgeous! My room is large and comfortable, very clean. The fresh breakfast had a huge selection of items to choose from, and the host even offered a selection of coffees from the cappuccino/espresso machine. The hosts are super friendly! The neighborhood is full of old character homes that are well preserved. I'm almost definitely stay again!!
Our stay at No. 5 East was nothing short of amazing. Vahid, Marcia, and Chief were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
The common areas and bedrooms were beautifully decorated, and the cleanliness was impeccable. Breakfast in the morning was the perfect start to our day.
Chief was the ideal little four-legged concierge—friendly, attentive, and didn’t make a peep. His cheerful morning greeting, complete with a wagging tail, added such a homey touch to our stay.
Thank you, Marcia, Vahid, and Chief, we will be back!

My husband and I stayed two nights at No.5 East and it was an incredible experience from beginning to end. Marcia and Vahid have truly created a home away from home for their guests. The home itself is stunning and immaculate - clean rooms, comfy beds, and spacious bathrooms, a common area games room and coffee bar (which I enjoyed for reading while my husband was still sleeping in the morning). The location is also just a short drive from major attractions, and I was impressed at how quiet the surrounding area is at night. Breakfast was perfect each morning with the right nutritional value to start your day. Best of all - when they say you arrive a guest and leave a friend, that couldn’t be more true. They are fantastic humans, and their dog Chief is an absolute angel. We will be back. With all our hearts - There’s not a better place to stay in Winnipeg!
A gorgeous place in a perfect location, with incredibly kind and generous hosts. I honestly wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else when I visit Winnipeg again!
The property, location and manor are exquisite. The historic house’s charm and elegance is beautifully maintained while providing all the modern updates and comforts. A delicious and generous breakfast was provided as well as snacks, coffee and soft drinks in the lounge. Even more than that , Vahid and Marcia were warm, welcoming and made sure everyone’s needs were met. I can’t think of anything that could be improved upon. We hope to stay there again the next time we visit Winnipeg. 10/10!
This was my second stay at this property. My previous stay was with the former owners of No 5 East and it is lovely to see this 126 year old home being renovated/spruced up. This property is so convenient to downtown Winnipeg and is in a lovely residential area backing on the river. There are generous included amenities and having areas outside of the room (lounge areas on the main and second floors) are great to enjoy the home. The included continental breakfast includes a good variety of items and my food allergies were accommodated. No 5 East is definiately not a standard accommodation and I enjoy the charm of these old properties. Everything was very clean (I'd even walk in this house in my socks). Makes you feel really at home.
