"I booked for my son and wife for their wedding night. The Hotel was extremely helpful, allowing them to store an overnight bag prior to the wedding. They added 'Honeymoon' touches to the room, I requested a room with a view even though it was a city centre hotel. It overlooked the Peace Gardens which was really nice. Hotel kept in contact prior to the stay with information re parking etc. which is available with a charge. Good breakfast available if required. All in all everything was just perfect for them."

"The only problem was the car park is too small, wasn't aware when I booked that we would have to pay nearly £9:00 per night. The hotel itself was very good, clean, well kept with helpful staff. The breakfeast was simply and plentyful."

"No power in first room but moved quickly then no issues. Good breakfast with the usual choices on offer."

"Room was clean and tidy. Staff were polite and pleasant though for our evening meal there were only 2 staff members who were very busy and could have done with an extra pair of hands I think as service was slow. The pool area was well maintained and had plenty of loungers. There was no water fountain though for a little drink after the sauna. Men’s locker room could do with a freshen up. The gym is dated and is mainly cardio and a few resistance machines, some free weights but not much space to use them, no barbell. Hotel is well placed for walks to clumber park and rufford abbey park for a day out. "

"On entry of the Hex Hotel the car park is a short distance from the hotel entrance, there is no drop off point immediately outside the reception area, eg - if it was raining your items would be quite if not not entirely soaked. My advice is to park up first, sign in at the Hotel Reception and then collect a porters trolley for your luggage from the reception area. However if you are able to carry all your items in one go then great. Staff are friendly, polite and inform you are all the important notices to make your stay pleasing. Our room was a double, parkside, which was so nice to wake upto, it was clean, had all the ammenties required for your stay and I am very particular. However, if you are used to soft towels, please bring your own, these are very rough, in our eyesand the shower is fantastic. On our last night we had an issue with the safe, the number did not work, it continually kept asking for an ecode, at this point we contacted reception and someone came immediately to sort this out. They elementated all possiblities and unfortunately was not able to resolve this, due to be a fault on the safe, so there was 2 options - 1. remain in the room, as we were checking out the following morning, or 2. relocate to another room, but it was nice that the option was available and very apologetic. Excellent stay and would highly recommend."
