โA special place close to Yala that makes you feel like youโre in the park. Small staff was so friendly and lovely, and I felt well taken care of. Delicious mealsโoften candlelit and with an outdoor grill. Room was air conditioned and well appointed, despite the jungle setting. Only caution: there probably will be some wildlife in your bathroom! They also organized my safaris in the park, as well as pick ups and drop-offs, which I appreciated.โ
โReally nice place surrounded by nature and adjacent to a serene lake. Lots of birds to watch while sipping your tea on your private patio and even the odd visit from neighbhood monkeys. Rooms are clean, with ceiling fan and AC, with very few bugs/mosquitoes inside.
The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. They also offer safari from 4 hours to full day at seemingly standard prices. We did a six hour private safari for 31K PP where we saw elephants, mongooses, loads of birds, and even (just...

โFrom the moment we arrived, the owners were so kind and helpful, even organising a full-day safari with an amazing guide where we spotted three leopards and so much more.
The rooms were spotless, honestly the cleanest we saw in our whole month in Sri Lanka, and could easily match a high-end hotel in Europe or the US. The location is perfect, right next to the entrance to Yala National Park, so you get peace and nature all around. We even saw a chameleon in the garden!
The food was the best of...
โIncredible place to spend a few nights while we enjoyed the peace and serenity as well as two safaris. The food was the best we had during our stay in Sri Lanka and the staff was incredible as well. โ
โMakini Bush Camp is an absolute gem in Yala! The stunning tented rooms are beautifully decorated and equipped with all the comforts you could wish for, including a refreshing plunge poolโperfect for cooling off after a walk in the bush.
The staff goes above and beyond to ensure an unforgettable stay, accommodating a range of experiences, including a half-day safari inside the park and a delightful nature walk around the camp. Our guide, Mr. Koushalya, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate...
โAbsolutely beautiful property. Right on the beach with easy access. Hanuman langur monkeys were right outside the room. They were so cute!
Room had poor lighting, but everything else was perfect! Hotel next door has a superb buffet- best i have ever eaten in terms of variety!
Access road was bad and there was no place for our driver to stay so he had to find his own lodging.โ
โAmazing location with a super helpful team of people. The perfect location for a safari at Yala wildlife park as it is 10 minutes from the entrance. โ
