"Beautiful property. Pulling in the drive is stunning. The interior is well decorated. The building itself is obviously older and it shows in certain areas: the toilet was unreliable, small cracks, bit of discolouration on tiles, and the pool floor isn’t sealed well so it has bumps and bounces. The room we booked for a family was perfect. The separation wall made the room feel much bigger and the kids loved having their own space. The TV selection was very basic and the TVs themselves were very slow. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. I did have to ask a lot of questions as some information wasn’t given initially but it wasn’t too inconvenient. The swim times for children was a bit annoying because we had to plan our day around it but I understand why they’re in place. We just would have liked a bit more freedom to choose when we wanted to go rather than set times. The bed we had wasn’t super comfortable, the mattress slanted on the edge. The pillows desperately need an update. They were very flat and offered no support. However the kids single beds were comfortable for them. The restaurant menu looked good but was expensive so we chose to eat elsewhere. Except for dessert which we did get through room service. The sticky toffee pudding was top 3 best we ever had. The grounds are vast and great for a wander. Overall, good stay. We would stay again as the experience itself outweighed any issues we had."

"Crathorne Hall is a lovely old fashioned hotel in a peaceful setting. We had a room upgrade which did help but the staff are excellent, as is the food. The highlight at breakfast was the uttapam, a traditional Indian breakfast dish."

"Rooms a bit dated but fine and comfortable. Smart TV recently installed which was good addition. Staff very helpful and approachable. Food good. Bar busy as a popular wedding venue. Third stay here and will return again. Good value and great location. "

"Great hotel, nice clean room, a bit on the small side but more than adequate for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was quite nice with a decent selection of food. Staff were pleasant although I did have to ask twice for a receipt for a coffee I bought from the bar. The server inadvertently put the receipt in the till and went on to serve someone else."

"My friend and I had a girlie two night break at this hotel and loved it. When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience. We had a sitting room (with verandah) which was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker, selection of high quality teas. There was a large bathroom and a super king size bed. Breakfast was nice, not outstanding but nice. The swimming pool was the big treat. Beautifully warm and the highlight of the stay. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly. This hotel is special and situated next to the Market Square which had lovely coffee shops, quaint shops and enticing pubs. Can’t wait to go back so thank you to all the staff especially Ali xxxxxx"
