"By the river Ouse in York you are reasonably close to everything. This hotel appears to be mid-20th century unimpressive architecture. There were issues with air-conditioning over very warm days. The bed was great, however I booked a king bed and was given twin beds. The shower worked well which gives this hotel passing marks. Security was full on and rooms are quiet. If you stay here book a river view as it will make it worth your while. There was a peculiar sulphur order which must be emitting from a hidden pit somewhere. York itself is charming mostly. Crowds can be heavy on fair weather days."
"The Hotel is badly let down by the Bar, the staff are slow , do not know how to work the TV and difficult.
It’s a shame as the staff across the rest of the Hotel are friendly and helpful."
"Nice location and reasonable rooms for the money.
No air conditioning in the rooms made them unbearable. There was a fan (seemingly from the 70's) but only 2 plug sockets in the room, neither if which near the bed, so the fan had no affect whatsoever.
Staff we friendly and helpful but food and drinks weren't great quality and were massively overpriced"
