Tam Hai Island Kid friendly Vacations

The hotel itself was quite nice and clean, and we likely would have given 4 or 5 stars except for the fact that the room described in our booking was not what we were given. We booked a two bedroom suite that was advertised as two bedrooms with private bathrooms, king beds, separate dining/living area with table and couch. What we received was a one bedroom suite where the couch had been removed and a queen bed put in its place. And the second 'ensuite' was more like a powder room with a small stand up shower that couldn't be used without flooding the whole bathroom. When we brought these discrepancies to the hotel we were told essentially you get what you get. And there was no effort to fix the unusable shower. Overall the hotel itself was fine, buffet breakfast was good and outside of the room issue the staff was very friendly but be aware that the photos online are intentionally deceiving and are advertised as much larger than reality.

Breakfast was ok, sufficient varieties but quality was so so. The room was as expected, clean with sufficient amenities. There was a track on the bathroom floor for the sliding door and this could be a potential tripping hazard when going in and out of either the toilet or the shower stall. The location was good for going to the beach but not too many restaurant choices within the 5 to 10 minutes walking distance. The check out process could be much better. At checkout, we were asked to wait for 5 to 10 minutes for the staff to check the room before we can get our bill. We experienced this process previously in some hotels but did not expect this was a requirement for a supposedly 5 stars hotel. I timed my departure to catch the train and did not factor in the 10 minutes additional wait time. This created some anxiety. We were fortunate we checked out at 6:30 am and not during the rush period. Otherwise our wait could have been much longer. The highlight in the hotel was the spa, the spa treatments were outstanding. I booked Awaken because it was a fairly new hotel and my overall experience was just ok There are plenty of hotels along the beach, I would look at other options if I ever returned to Da Nang.

Just finished 10 nights at Stella Maris, had an amazing time, the staff are amazing and is by far the biggest highlight of the hotel. We paid extra for a high level room and were placed on the 14th floor, room was lovely and cleaned exceptionally well every day. There is some noise from outside, both traffic and building noise but being on the 14th floor did help. The pool and rooftop bar were fantastic, staff always happy to help, brining drinks over to your sun lounger and nothing was ever too much to ask. Breakfast was another highlight, lots of choice for every nationality available and everything was fresh and replenished throughout the morning. The free airport transfers and couples massage was a very nice touch offered by the hotel. Overall highly recommend this hotel, can assure you that you will have an amazing stay.
