We have stayed here many times and have always loved it for family gatherings. The location is great. We love Fremont street. The pool was under renovation but still very nice. The access to the levels has changed. It used to be that if you stayed in the gold tower you could go to every floor. This time you COULD NOT. Your key gave you access to your floor and we did not know. We were celebrating our granddaughters 21st birthday and had a group of 13 people that stayed at the Golden Nugget. We had a suite so we could have her birthday cake and gifts and of course photos. It was a struggle to have to go to the lobby and pick up each person to come up. I will not book a suite here again for a celebration. We tried to have the birthday girl stay on the same floor but they couldn’t accommodate. I would have insisted we be on the same floor when we booked but it was not this way before. We had the suite and it was not very clean. There were rings around the drains in the sinks like they needed to be scrubbed and the floors made my feet dirty! I always bring slippers and was glad to have them. The suite had 2 bathrooms and the main bathroom smelled like smoke so bad that if you left the door open while you were gone the whole room smelled.
