Visayan Islands Kid friendly Vacations

This hotel was amazing, the rooms were fantastic, the breakfast buffet was delicious, but the staff were the best. I believe their names were Joan (there were 2 ladies named Joan) and Shem (I didn't get the spelling), they were the most helpful and nicest people ever at the breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel. The only drawback, they really didn't want you swimming in the ocean - the first time they said it was after 5 and no lifeguard was on duty, the second time it was the middle of the day and they said no lifeguard on duty. There were several groups wanting in, finally they brought a lifeguard and we were able to get in water. They really need to fix that - just let it be swim at your own risk. Snorkeling didn't seem to be that great, clear water but not much to see.

Breakfast was good, but not great. Oatmeal was as the worst I’ve ever seen. 1st time was literally water soup with some oats. Last time was almost inedible, even the worker was embarrassed at how thick it was and offered to add water. The staff however were exceptionally good and friendly.

As a hotelier since the day I graduated from university—and having worked with Accor for 13 years—finally getting back to stay again at one of my favourite ACCOR properties, Movenpick Mactan Cebu, was something I truly looked forward to. From the moment we arrived, everyone we met—from the security guard and bellboy to the front desk team, breakfast staff, and even the lifeguards—welcomed us with such warm, genuine smiles. This is the true spirit of Filipino hospitality: not just doing a job, but serving from the heart. And of course, their breakfast never disappoints! As a foodie, I loved the egg live station, noodle station, local dishes, and the mix of international cuisines. Always a feast! Plus, JJ absolutely loved the kids’ activities—free childcare was such a blessing while I packed! Kudos to the entire Movenpick Mactan Cebu team. We stayed 3 nights in Plantation Bay, and I have to give a shout out to Ms. Glaze at the front desk! She explains everything clearly and with kindness. She was patient enough to answer all the questions and very polite. Give her a raise or acknowledge her professionalism and most of all, her way of letting us all feel very welcome. She's part of the reasons why I extended for another night and even booked additional room. Please award her or promote her! However, we did not like the attitude and demeanor of the guy that was assigned in paddle boarding. He was very arrogant and mean. He needs to undergo training and make sure that he makes the clients feel welcome. He was very rude and made our paddle boarding experience not so nice. He was just rude and mean. Teach the guy to be at least,friendly. Even my nephew refused to do paddle board one more time because he said, the guy is mean. We had it November 26th, figure the guy assigned that time & have him undergo serious training on how to deal with clients with respect.

We returned to the Henann Resort Alona Beach after first visiting in 2016. We were in a room back then and a villa this time around. What a beautiful set up! The bed was fantastic and my wife and I regularly slept 9-10 hours, just what we needed for a holiday break. The fridge was constantly stocked with Coke Zero per our preference, and the bathroom/shower was top tier. A private pool was a perfect spot to cool off and get sand off our feet before entering the bedroom. The property had a great breakfast buffet and we had many meals at Christina's, the on-site restaurant. We spent most of our time on the resort, with one stop at the Bohol Bee Farm, but really, you can just stay at the resort and have a wonderful vacation.
