"This is a primitive camping site. Yes the tent is large and there is an outdoor toilet and shower which is delightful but this is still just a camp site. No other facilities. There is no A/C and it can get quite hot in the tent. We had a wonderful candle lit dinner by the chef who also lit us a fire which was beautiful under the stars. Some holes in the tent need to be fixed due to mosquitos. "

"Very nice room, pool great, not walking distance to eateries. The family looking after the apartments were very helpful. We had a room and dedicated bathroom (locked for our use but in the wider apartment). There is a common kitchen, lounge and dining room, fortunately we had the place to ourselves but could be problematic if sharing with others (there were 2 or 3 other bedrooms)"

"We had an amazing stay here, it really does add to the whole safari experience as you feel completely out in the middle of the jungle. One night at dinner we even heard the warning call of deer nearby that the staff told us meant a leopard was near too, truly a once in a lifetime dining experience. With this being more of a glamping like experience you do need to be prepared to have some bugs in the room. The bathrooms are also a little bit rough and ready with some signs of wear but again being in the middle of nature this is to be expected and it still does feel like a luxury glamping experience. The staff and food were brilliant and the dinner setting is one I won’t forget! The location is very private and it really sets up your safari from minute one. Each lodge is incredibly private and not overlooked at all, this makes for a very peaceful escape. It is about a five minute drive from the gates to Wilpattu national park which saves you some extra time in bed for the early morning safari start which is an added bonus."

"The Ivy Lake is a rare find in Sri Lanka, being modern & so well maintained as it only four rooms. The brother & sister who manage the property are in touch with technology making them very helpful for what's going on in Anuradhapura & helping with things to do in the area. The garden is so beautiful making the property feel tropical & peaceful in a very busy city. The Ivy Lake is very central to the Old Town, the lake, bus station & the train station, perfect to be walkable to everything. The room is very convenient with a rare refrigerator, great shower & comfy bed, everything a traveller needs. There is a superb coffee shop that the youngsters have with all meals available. Well done Ivy Lake, we highly recommend you to all visitors to Anuradhapura."

Would 100% recommend for all, the staff helped us with safari organisation, providing dinner as well as breakfast. "Our room was very handy for the pool and the restaurant and was reasonably quiet. The manager and staff were very courteous and helpful and the manager was able to arrange a Safari at late notice and a tuktuk guide for the ancient city. The Safari guide Zion was excellent as was his driver. The tuktukguide Kumar was also very good."
