“My first trip to Costa Rica and San Jose was a success thanks to choosing Lolas as my place to stay. Its convenient walking street was very safe and convenient to museums, shots, and restaurants. There was an affordable garage around the corner, but I didn’t have a car. The facilities were pristine, with great common areas for congregating and dining. The responsiveness and level of service was incredible. I had a prove room, it was great. I really had such a wonderful time. I cannot recommend...

“I am grateful for the amazing affordability of this hostel which was also paired with a low-key easy-going atmosphere. When I was told that there would be “a pancake” in the morning I wasn’t expecting much but I was happily surprised to discover that this pancake was very large, neither over cooked nor under cooked and it was decorated with two different fruits on top along with syrup of course. Thank you! I’m so grateful.”

“I am very very disappointed in this hostel. There were no actual door locks. The property is old and not in good repair and worst of all is that my mattress smelled very strongly of cat urine. Really! They tried to cover it up by hanging a toilet bowl sanitizer on the wall of the room. I removed it because the fumes were overwhelming. Also... they rent rooms by the hour! Yikes. It was the worst experience for me in a hotel/hostel, and I am a world wide traveller and often opt for...

“This place is CLOSED yet hotels.com keeps offering it online. I booked through hotels.com as part of my trip and when I got their and the hotel was no longer in operation, and it was a nightmare dealing with hotels.com. They are pushy and it is a mess. When I started demanding my money back, a pushy person who spoke broken English called to sell me ANOTHER hotel, but refused to give me my money back. I am realizing hotels.com is a racket.”

“Missförstå mig inte, för det man betalade fick man helt okej i gengäld: en säng och rent badrum. Läget är också hyfsat men är svårg att hitta, finns inget skyltat (inte ens på deras dörr). Det är rent men också slitet och ganmalt. Den frukost som var gratis bestod av vitt bröd och frukt, när jag kom ned var det bara två bananer kvar. Receptionen är inte alltid öppen.”

“Room without window, terrible light. Reception was like the living room of the family, where they looked TV what we heard. The hostel was located in a main road, very loud. We had to open 2 gates and 2 doors to get in our room. We felt like being in a jail. Much too expensive!!!”
