The position of the hotel by a small harbour was very pretty and it was very easy to go either into the town or explore the countryside. “Lovely remote and quiet location. Beach is a few minute drive and the waters are the clearest I’ve ever seen. The room was recently renovated, had everything we needed from a studio to make basic meals and drinks, and was extremely clean. The host was lovely and more than happy to let us check in early as there was availability. We hold highly recommend for a wholesome quiet family holiday or for couples to unwind. ”

“We stayed at Portou House for 5 nights and had an excellent time. Very good location in Chania Old Town. Communication was great from start to finish with Julia being very responsive. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine for my Partner’s birthday which was a nice touch. The only feedback we would have is that there was no full length mirror - think it would be good to consider including in the rooms. Many thanks Julia and team at Portou House. ”

“We booked a one bedroomed apartment which was spacious and comfortable. The rooms were cleaned daily and all staff were friendly and approachable. Booking through Hotels.com I was advised that the air con and safety deposit box was included in that price which was a nice surprise.
