“This is a great place to stay highly recommend! Reasonably priced and very good value. The room we had was quite comfortable on the top floor with a private balcony area, perfect for us smokers. We were right in the heart of the center easy walking distance to castle and pubs/ nightlife. The front desk is located just across the street and the staff were all super friendly and helpful! Would stay again for sure if ever back in the area great job!”

“What a lovely hotel - couldn't fault it. Had never heard of the brand of hotel before, but all was good. Very quiet hotel so had a peaceful sleep. We eat there too and again, couldn't fault the food or staff - would definitely use this brand of hotel again”

“Room 409 is huge ! And well maintained! Side sea view lovely ! Could only open one off the windows ! Carpet was ok but outside the room needs changing when they get round to it , the hot water wasn’t very hot in the shower ! Otherwise great stay ”

“A fun building dating at one end around 1600 and the other 2016. The Tudor bits are wobbly and pokey as you would expect. The modern bits, modern. Helpful staff and a kitchen that poached eggs nicely for breakfast. For a budget option, this is a good stay. ”

“I took on board comments about lack of noise-proofing from other reporters Anna that is the only thing preventing a 5* review. Julie was so helpful and a star; Claire served up a top-drawer breakfast made with high quality ingredients, cooked so well by the kitchen. Lovely contemporary bar and restaurant area - it’s just a move place to be.”

“We had a wonderful time at the event evening. The staff are amazing, so friendly, professional and very accommodating. The food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.”

“It as a beautiful 1400 Grade 1-listed building, which was great, but I had problems with the shower. In my initial room the water was lukewarm at best. I was moved to another where the water was hot but the shower was weak. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was good. They had soya milk for my coffee.”
