“El Picnic was a truly special place to stay on Lake Atitlán. The hosts are wonderful and make the experience along with the beautiful setting. Gabi went above and beyond, from helping coordinate transportation before our arrival to suggesting and arranging unique local experiences during our stay. One of her recommendations, a bird-watching hike, ended up being a highlight of our trip (we even saw a quetzal!). Meals were excellent, with delicious breakfasts and dinners shared with other guests...

“Alexis was very helpful through the whole check in and stay. The property can only be accessed by the water. Alexis connected with us through WhatsApp to make communication easier and answer any questions we had. It took us quite awhile to reach Lake Atitlan due to traffic but we were able to take a water taxi to the hotel from Panajachel. “This oasis is even better than the photographs. Blown away by the beauty of the property. The hotel was at capacity but I felt like I was the only guest and had the pool to myself most of the time. Don’t hesitate or waste time looking at alternatives. ”

“Cleanish room, couple of spiders but it’s kinda a glamping type situation, the hot water is hot or miss, the lady at the front desk was brash, and they charge to use the hot tub. Not really walking distance to anything which is fine but worth noting in case you are against using a tuk tuk or cab. Bed is hard, the in room safe dint work was frozen even though the batteries were fine. The toilet water rises all the way up and with touch your jewels me. So be ready for it or hover when you flush....

“The complex was extremely well kept and the room was clean and comfortable. The complex was quite difficult to find even with the provided instructions, we only found it because a local showed us the route. The area has a lot of construction so it is quite loud during the day. The balcony was not used as we had hoped because the drilling was constant all day. Also it would be nice if the balcony had seating. The staff are very quick to respond which was helpful because the toilet did not work...
