I think the hotel is in the middle of a remodel because when we stayed, we booked two rooms. The room my husband and I ended up with was terrible. Weird stains on walls and furniture, low water pressure, no vent in bathroom, torn carpet, and a bunch of other stuff. Meanwhile my sister and mother in law got a "remodeled" room. Which was only slightly nicer than the other room. It had new paint, but not new furniture. The carpet was the same, but in better condition, and the bathroom was nicer. But overall still a crummy motel kind of vibe.
A long with the rooms, the hotel itself was strange. It had a courtyard inside lined with cheap turf and dollar store faux flowers/plants. Imagine a low budget Las Vegas hotel and you get Cactus Cove.
The free breakfast included white bread or plain bagel, hotel cereal, yoplait, and a waffle maker. You could pay for other breakfast items like eggs or whatever but we decided not to do that.
It was a meh place, but comfortable enough for one night I guess. But I wouldn't stay there again nor recommend it. Didn't see any bugs at least.
