“We enjoyed our stay as a family of 4 adults and 2 teenagers. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was great. Everything was very clean. Summer time the sargassum is too thick to use the beach on the property but the staff works hard to clean it daily. Pool was perfect, fun games for kids to play at pool. Would stay again!”

“First time in Belize and wanted to experience San Pedro but staying at Ambergris Sunset Hotel killed it for me. I booked a standard room but on checkin the room was terrible. Wife was horrified. Sheets and room smelled musky, the door did not even have a standard door knob, it was a latch and a dead bolt on a wooden ply door!!!! Come on!!! Large gaps in the doorway when closed, and with the pool just outside you really down have privacy. It really was a terrible room in my opinion.I checked...

“This hotel is conveniently located to eateries, both local and tourist based. We had a full kitchen which allowed us to buy fruits and veggies for snacks between meals at the restaurants. The appearance is very rustic on the outside, but don’t be too quick to judge. The staff was excellent and accommodating. They were very personable and informative. The room was very clean and well maintained. We would stay again.”

“Portofino is a beautiful, quaint little resort. We have stayed in their small cabanas a number of times. They are rustic and simple. The resort grounds include a lovely salt water pool, a dock, a small reception area, a small outdoor bar with a beautiful patio under large sea grape trees as well as a restaurant above the reception area that overlooks the gorgeous sea and barrier reef.
