“I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means.”

“The weather was awful and the lights were out for hours. Then once the lights came back on, my kids wanted to try to enjoy the pool but they had the gates locked. I asked for one night refund to leave and take my kids home because of not having lights but they denied it. There was no beach view. ”

“Quiet spot just steps from the beach. Your needs are covered with a fully equipped kitchen We kept the front door open so we could enjoy the sound of the waves and cool weather. There is an outside sitting area by your front door. Bed was very comfortable. ”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our king room on the first floor was very comfortable, spotless, had a large bathroom, and even a little back deck. The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. Veronica was happy to share suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area....

“Everything was excellent with the exception of the breakfast buffet considering the room rate. Sparse and cheap best describe the buffet which consisted of cold scrambled eggs, over cooked sausage patties and clumpy oatmeal. Only fruit offered were a few bananas and the bread selection was also limited. There were two waffle irons available but the crowd of people trying to cook something hot for their children made the wait too long. For a Marriott property I found this buffet substandard. ...

“We know the hotel can't control the weather, but we were surprised by the lack of effort to offer some kid friendly activities with 4 straight days of rain. Other issues we encountered: 1) our shower looked like it was never cleaned. The same 2 pieces of hair were stuck on the tile when we arrived and left. Lots of mold too. 2) my husband took my tween daughters to the gym with him (since we were all going stir crazy from the 3rd straight day of rain!) They were rudely informed at the desk...

“Property is amazing and home renovation and condition was outstanding, unfortunately we went on a cold weekend and the room was freezing (60°F) with no way to adjust temperature. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. These conditions resulting in almost no sleep.”

“Pet friendly, easy walk to beach with chairs and towels provided! Very comfortable bed, good sized room but bathroom needs updating. Minimal water pressure in the shower. Nice lobby area and nice breakfast buffet included! This is a Hilton property but was advertised as a Hampton Inn when booking. ”

“This was one of the nicest hotels that I have stayed at in Fernandina Beach. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and clean. The pool and hot tub were nice! I will definitely book to stay here again in the future!”
