On the up side, staff was friendly, we were given an early check-in, and our room was clean. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. We were told the restaurant was closed till the next day. Our room was hot and we were only able to turn off the heat setting, which did nothing on the top floor on a warm sunny day. The first employee I spoke with told me the A/C was broken and would possibly be fixed tomorrow. She said there were many complaints and she tried to get me a fan, but they were all gone. She offered us a room on the first floor but it was late and we were too tired to move our things. We were able to crack our window about 6-8 inches thankfully, but there was no screen, so we couldn't leave it open all night due to mosquitos. It was even warmer come morning and the beds are saggy and squeaky and uncomfortable, so I hardly slept. I was up at 5:30 ready to grab a cup of coffee and leave. I went downstairs to find that they even charged for COFFEE and pastries. I told the front desk person that we had no A/C all night and our room was unbearably hot. He said the A/C was turned off seasonally hotel wide. I said they need to inform people of this in advance. This is a major deal breaker for me and I never would've stayed had I known.

This property is so very old. It would be nice if they would update and have more consistency with modern items. The iron needs to be changed out....it had a scorch mark that I did not notice until I ironed my top and got a smudge. It needs a lot of upgrades as it is in a key location close to the highway.

We had made the reservation through Expedia last minute, a little bit before midnight, and because of that, when we tried checking in an hour later, it had not yet appeared in the hotel system. We were tired and grumpy after a long day of travel. The clerk was very kind and accommodating while we tried to figure out how to get checked in. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long. The hotel is nice and is in a quiet area. Our room was fine but smelled a little mildewy, but otherwise no complaints.

Kensington Hotel is a great option when staying in Ann Arbor. Convenient access to both downtown and outskirts area. The hotel staff was excellent, using Expedia was the actual difficult part. No fault of the Hotels, but multiple weird things happened. We were graciously comped a breakfast for the troubles. Would recommend.

This is our second time staying here. Although it’s an older hotel, it’s been nicely redone. The bathrooms are smallish but the rooms are nicely appointed. The staff was very nice and accommodating. That’s why we came back the second time. They did not disappoint.

I liked the big pool with the jacuzzi, and the ample amount of towels available. I was slightly taken aback when the front desk asked for an extra $50 deposit for possible incidentals - it was not mentioned AFAIK in your website.

The entire staff that I encountered from check in to my departure were awesome people Which includes the dining staff also. Very polite and professional during my 2 weeks and 4 day stay while my mom's bedroom was being remolded.

Beautiful older hotel. The front desk staff was wonderful. A young man named Cade checked us in and was very professional. How often do you get champagne at check in? Wonderful surprise. Nice restaurant on site. The pool was the perfect temperature. Well maintained and clean. They have an adult only hour which is a bonus. Didn't use hot tub but it looked nice. Hallways were quiet despite a conference being held there. Room was very clean. In room phones and room service too. Nice shower with ample hot water!! Bed was extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed on property for the convenience of a work event onsite. The air conditioning was not working in the hotel and no one checking in was made aware until we complained that the room were almost 80 degrees. The hotel brought a fan to our room but we were forced to leave the window open and listen to road noise all night so that the room temp was tolerable. The hotel is definitely showing its age.

I stayed for two nights. First night was great and quiet. Second night was the opposite until 1am on a Tuesday. The connecting doors between rooms are thin and you can hear EVERYTHING through them. Just normal talking is extremely audible and just ruined the second night for me. Friendly staff, room was clean, and it’s close to UM campus, a mall, as well as the highway. It was not the worst stay I’ve had, and it wasn’t the best. It is average with some upsides. Would return if there was a good price for a room and take my chances with noisy neighbors.

Once checked in there were no instructions on how to get to my room. Luckily I figured it out for myself. Entire hotel smelled like marijuana. Pretty sure it was a non-smoking hotel but this was clearly disregarded. The main reason for booking this stay was that there was an onsite sauna. Unfortunately, it was out of order.

The kensington is beautiful hotel. It’s conveniently close to my doctors office. I live three hours away so it’s nice to come the night before and have a good night sleep. The staff were all very courteous. The room was very clean. Beds were just right to get comfy on. Happy repeat customer.
