Arashiyama, Kyoto hotel rooms at the Sotetsu

One of the highlights of the trip. An absolute must if you want to stay in a traditional Ryokan. Location was an added bonus to the bamboo forest and monkey park. Staff was top notch!

Space is beautiful and staff is helpful and friendly.

Staff was very helpful let me check in early due to rooms being already cleaned so we could drop off our bags. When leaving after check out let us keep our bags there at the office while we continued to explore the city. Great place to stay room was very nice 10/10 would recommend and definitely coming back!

This is a beautiful property and a great spot for Arashiyama! Within walking distance to a lot of the main sights but still off the beaten track. Very cute and well designed. Most of the other guests were incredibly respectful and friendly, the host was phenomenal. Highly recommend KyoCafe down the road and the grilled meats/seafood stand past the bridge on the main tourist street (hard to miss but didn’t catch a name). We loved our stay here! Definitely want to return to stay at this onsen. We were greeted at check in with a sweet gift for our honeymoon it was so thoughtful! We loved arashiyama and the convenience of how walkable our hotel was to both stations and the town. The beds are so comfortable the room we stayed in was spacious. Honestly, there are not enough stars for this hotel. The staff is very friendly and kind, the rooms were clean with such an amazing view of the river, and the vibe was so soothing it was honestly hard to leave! The employees made us feel welcomed and spoke English well. The even let us barrow an umbrella when we went out while there was light rain. The best part was after a long day of walking, we enjoyed the nice private tub in our suite. So nice, me and my fiance used it everytime we came back...

We’ve stayed in this area many times but this was a unique experience. The location is perfect, the units are clean and simple. It’s a glamping experience that I would recommend and we will stay in again. Loved the staff, very kind and helpful!

This may be the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff were amazing, the grounds were incredible! The private onsen was the highlight of my trip!

Our room was clean and spacious. Finding it was a challenge for the local cab driver. The breakfast was just breads but I enjoyed the mugwort rolls! I’d recommend that they add a washer/dryer to some rooms. Also, the sleeping clothes were a little worn. Mine was missing an important button. The staff were friendly but it could be hard to communicate with them over the phone.
