A very chilled, easy vibe awaits at The Pig in the Southdowns where we were part of a relaxed and intimate family wedding celebration. Great food, plenty of home comforts, beautifully furnished and seasonally decorated spaces, and a restful, super-quiet, spacious guestroom m, with a fabulous large bed and amazing shower, meant a gorgeously relaxed stay. The service at dinner and breakfast was pretty casual and laid back, which wasn’t a problem, as it suited us to take plenty of time over our meals, but it did mean we had to chase up a little and ask for things that should really have been automatically forthcoming (particularly when you consider the prices charged). There was a very young, perhaps rather inexperienced staff team in the restaurant, so this was undoubtedly the reason, but everyone was absulovely, courteous and keen to assist. Our overall experience was fabulous and we would definitely stay again. Highly recommended for a restorative, soothing escape to the country, away from it all.

Service is friendly and impeccable. The food is superb and much of it is grown on site in the kitchen garden (daily tours available). We had a birthday dinner party for 12 adults in the Garden Room and we were looked after incredibly well. Lovely scenery at no extra charge! Hugely recommended. Best to stay in the main hotel if you can rather than the wagons or sheds.

Nearly perfect

The most delightful staff . An amazing kitchen garden supplying wonderful fresh food to the table. Daily cleaning could have been improved in the room. A coffee machine in the bar would help a long wait. One extra member of staff in the bar would also make the atmosphere less hectic and efficient . We would love to stay again as overall a beautiful setting and fabulous dining .Thank you
