A bit strange with the shower situation, but the room was cozy, clean, a nice selection of snack items, and the staff was super friendly. It's not going to be for people looking for 5 star room service, but for the price I paid, I will definitely be back again during my further travels to Austin.

The employees are extremely nice and friendly. Very quiet, and very clean rooms. I stayed multiple nights, multiple times. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

The guys behind the counter are very friendly and welcoming and the lobby is surprisingly upscale. The rooms are very basic and adequate, nothing special. Many don't have showers but they have several shared showers around the place. It's great they all have fridges, microwaves and TV's. One problem is the neighborhood, very run down, vandalized cars and sketchy groups of people around. The rooms could also be a lot cleaner, there were dead bugs and spider webs in the closets, black mold in the A/C and I did see one small roach in the bathroom sink but it's not that surprising considering the neighborhood. Overall good value for an inexpensive place to sleep, as long as you can overlook the neighborhood and cleanliness issues.

Parking is very convenient and pretty secured. The staff is amazing. Room was not super clean to be honest but it could be because the previous days all rooms was occupied and the staff was in hurry to make it for next guests. The property has nice features like outside dining and cute hall. Overall, for the price like this it is really good place. Definitely will stay there again.

It's a nice place overall. I was happy with the room and price especially. Lobby was surprisingly upscale, dudes behind the counter were friendly and accommodating. The mattress was a lil stiff but I got a good night's sleep once the nearby music outside died down around 9 and the neighboring room cut off their TV around 11 (thi The neighborhood is run down but the place has no control over that. They do a good job with security, "one entrance" that's monitored at least.

I recently relocated to Austin for work, and while saving for a house stayed at La Unica Monday - Thursday for close to 6 months. The rates on this place are lower than anywhere else in Austin, and the other places in their ballpark (mostly motor inns or extended stays) are definitely a lot more questionable and seemingly less clean. The staff here are very firm on their policies, which I appreciated as a single woman staying here alone during the week. You will also receive wonderful customer service, and if anything ever goes wrong (and during my time it hardly ever did) you’ll be taken care of immediately. The rooms are equipped with a fridge, microwave, and and in most instances a freezer too. If you get a room with a shower, let the hot water run a bit before assuming it doesn’t work. Yes the rooms are old, yes it’s a former nursing home. But I’m all my times staying there, I never saw one insect, dirty sheet, anything. The gal who does housekeeping does a wonderful job. Linens were always clean, and crisp. The location is great - right between mopac, 183 and i35. The parking lot is well lit, fenced, and has security cameras everywhere. The people who own and run this facility truly care about their guests, and the experience they provide. What might appear as a little rough around the edges on the inside is truly a wonderful place. And lives up to its name as it is certainly very unique! Very highly recommend La Unica.
