I had been really looking forward to staying at The Five Arrows, but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. After a long journey with our two very young children, we were greeted rather awkwardly, which set the tone for the stay.
The cot provided had a dirty sheet, which we had to request to be changed — disappointingly, there was no apology offered. Later that night, the alarm clock in our room went off at midnight, waking up our whole family.
Breakfast the next morning was also a let-down; the atmosphere was very stuffy and uncomfortable, and the staff seemed curt and unwelcoming from the outset. To top it off, an unexpected £60 charge was added to our bill without prior notice, which left a sour taste at the end of our stay.
It's a shame, as the setting and building itself are beautiful, and I had really wanted to enjoy our time there. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I would find it difficult to recommend.
