Top Bakken's Pond State Natural Area Hotel Reviews
Spring Valley Inn
8/10 Good
"Nice hotel. Many nice touches in the architecture, furniture, and grounds that reflect Frank Loyd Wright’s style. I have two minor complaints: (1) room had slight mildew smell and (2) dehumidifier and fan in lobby off hallway near room were extremely loud. Hopefully the noisy equipment will solve the moisture problem and that will eliminate the smell."
"We enjoyed meeting Mary, the owner, and hearing about the history of the property. Our room was comfortable and beautifully furnished. Had a lovey breakfast with another guest couple."
"Everything was clean and neat. It was an older hotel that had been updated/renovated. It was in very good condition. The staff was nice. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but not terrible. The pool was clean, warm, well-maintained. The price was good. Not a bad hotel."
"Parking was very convenient and close to the door. The room was spacious for a double queen and clean. However, you can hear everything next door if you have an adjoining door. Having two restaurants near by that are walkable is a plus. The Los Amigos, which is attached to the hotel, and Arthur's Supper Club, approximately 200 feet away across the street."
"Our room and breakfast were pretty nice. The hotel is a bit out of the way for restaurants (other than the pizza place next door), but only 5 minutes from Baraboo by car. I loved that half of the Jacuzzi was outside. the check-in-day receptionist was polite but did the bare minimum -- offered no information at all on breakfast, wifi, and where the amenities are located. While the hotel is only 3 years old, the water fountains did not work, the lock on the swimming pool door usually did not work (the attendant had to bring an old-fashioned key to unlock it), and there were only dirty towels in the swimming pool."
"Our stay was great. We enjoyed the pool and exercise equipment. Beds were extremely comfortable and property was clean. Staff were professional and helpful."
