Had to go to the front door to turn off lights and walk in the dark to the bed. Not convenient at all."

Sigiriya is a beautiful little town and Lion Rock is a must do. Get up early to beat the crowds and heat. It opens at 7am. We hired a scooter but Charu the father will drive you if needed.
