โWe had a great time in Brienz. The hotel room was very clean and nice. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff is very helpful. It is easy walkable distance from the station. โ
โWe've just returned from a 2 night stay at the Grandhotel Giessbach and wow, what a place! The hotel is certainly grand and is located in the most beautiful location I've ever seen, overlooking Lake Brienz with the Giessbach falls only metres away! The staff were all very pleasant, the breakfast was great, the bar was lovely, the Les Cascades restaurant was lovely, the surrounding park and trails were truly beautiful!
However, my only complaint is that we had to pay 15CHF per night for parking....
โLocation wise, this could not be better. Staff were very helpful, breakfast was nice. The restaurant in the evening has a good selection of Swiss traditional dishes - otherwise you can cross the road and go to Loewen (which belongs to the hotel as well). Note that for late night check-in you need to call them so they can leave your room key in a safe box at the main entrance (dead easy).โ
โ Very nice property in a beautiful part of Switzerland. Friendly staff and lots of areas to walk and enjoy the scenery. Great breakfast options and lots of options for restaurants in addition to the one onsite. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely book again.โ
โIt has the best view of the Grindelwald. There are no tourists in the morning and evening, so you can enjoy the view calmly. The stars are clearly visible at night.

โThe breakfast/lunch to go package was very nice for the price. Very handy to take on our trips our for the day. In the kitchen area they need to label more of the drawers and cabinets. Had to literally open every one to find the garbage. Label in multiple languages. โ
โSituรฉ ร Meiringen, l'hรดtel profite d'un emplacement idรฉal pour les gorges de l'Aar et les cascades avoisinantes. L'intรฉrรชt pour Sherlock dans cet hรดtel est minime. L'accueil est bien mais ne comptait pas trop parler anglais. Comme partout en Suisse Allemanique c'est cher mais bien Situรฉ. โ

Sharing shower room and toilet are also clean, too.

"Good to stay for chalet experience. Walkable but a bit far from Brienz lake and lake trail from the hotel side is not that pretty. Better to drive to Iseltwald.
Service quality varies by who you meet the staff. The lady who had leggy hair at reception looks very negative keeping said No, we canโt, we donโt whenever I asked, which I was serviced on the other day. She took away my a little good stay experience and memory during the stay. Other than her, everyone was so kind and full of hospitality. "
