When this is combined with the love for nature that the host Mary shares with you and staying in one of the shepherds huts all conditions for a perfect stay are there. Guidance to nice walks and places to see are part of the warm welcoming to Blackstairs Shepherds Hut.
We enjoyed the quietness, a walk along the river Barrow and having dinner in the nearby town Borris.”

The man dealing with us on check in was so so kind and chatty, we had arranged early check in prior to our stay and this was absolutely no problem which was great. “Cathy is a super host! She made us feel very welcomed. The property is very cute. Her breakfast offerings are fantastic. We had a faux pas with the guest washing machine and she graciously assisted late in the evening and had our laundry back to us by morning. ”
“This place was so cute. I only stayed for one night but I wish I had stayed longer. Very clean and cute. You could tell a lot of love and care had been put into the decor. Everything felt cozy and homey. They even had coffee and cookies available in the room. And they provided a little binder full of hiking spots, restaurants, and things to do nearby which was very helpful. If I ever come through this town again o will definitely stay at Madeline’s. ”
