I had a great 1 night stay at the Wheatsheaf Hotel. I arrived close to the food ordering deadline but the staff were extremely accommodating and happy to serve anything off the menu.

Easy to find and park, the room was clean and comfortable but was beginning to look tired and dated. I would definitely stay here again, it’s convenient and the staff were pleasant.

Lovely little hotel

We stayed here after having my mother-in-law's wake which was held in one of the function areas. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious.

This was a last minute booking but staff where friendly and the food was great. I think the breakfast was overpriced at £19. Dearer than an evening meal. But apart from that great.

Perfect for short stay

This was a comfortable hotel and the room was a really good size. Nice and quiet despite being on an A Road. There is a pub with food too which was handy

Good place to stay

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The pub is lovely with lots of different areas to sit. The room had everything we needed, the bed was large and comfortable, there was a bath and shower, somewhere to hang our clothes and a tv. The car park is very big.

Hotel just off the motorway but far enough away not to here any traffic noises. Hotel is a country pub staff warm and welcoming food good choice.large parking space.

Very nice inn on the way to Heathrow

A nice place but the room it the front had a lot of street noise. The food was good. It provided a fan and iron in the room which was great

The hotel was excellent with very friendly and helpful staff. The only complaint I have is the hot water was intermittent in the shower and took a long time to come out of the tap in the bathroom sink

Staff good ,great location ,poor rooms

We use this hotel a lot as its position for our frequent visits to the West Country .Extremely well priced . Food good in restaurant ,overall restaurant decor good ,however dining chairs need attention ,other diners had issues with them. All staff excellent ,friendly and efficient.We had an issue with the original room we were given ( continual noise from next room ) asked to be moved and this was done with no problem. Our biggest disappointment with the WHEATSHEAF is the condition of the room accommodation,all rooms we have stayed in there are extremely tired,lack maintenance…particularly the bathrooms need total refurbishment. Decoration ie a fresh coat of paint in main bedroom and corridors would help . I note other reviews say the same and the response is the comments are passed on to the hotel’s maintenance department … let’s hope some action is taken ,as we would still look forward to coming to stay here and not look for an alternative place to stay in the future !!

No one at reception, had to wait over 10 minutes to check in. Bathroom run down with very loud extractor fan. Room itself looked nice and was well equipped but bed springs poking out of bed

Excellent professional staff. I got there a little early after a long drive, room not ready but wonderful housekeeping very kindly said they would make my room next so I didnt have to wait too long. Little things like this make all the difference. Impeccably clean, housekeeping are clearly proud of their work kudos to them. Had a little bother with noise from the large travelling community using the bar singing their traditional songs which kept me awake....had to be up at 0400, but I think this was a one off rather than the norm. I'll happily go back.

The room was a little tired but clean. Breakfast was excellent, the breakfast service from Donna was truly excellent and worthy of mention. The bar was adequate, three of the four bitter ales were not available and the fourth was sour and un drinkable, we drank Guinness which was fine. The Wheatsheaf was ideally located for our needs to be able to attend a family funeral. They did the after service buffet which was very good indeed and the staff very attentive and pleasant. We also ate in the restaurant in the evenings and the food was excellent and the serving staff also excellent. The whole place is a little jaded and needs an update but in spite of that the staff service and food were outstanding.👍🤗
