The cottages were cozy and charming. They were close to stores and restaurants. There is also Pineknot trail area close by which is great for hiking and snow play.

First I was texted earlier in the day of my checkin to say my room was available early and what time would I be expected. A nice touch incase you are running late. I was alittle lost finding the driveway to the property, so I called the property and the gentleman at the front desk waited outside to flag me in. I finally get to meet Serene, the front desk manager and he was very enthusiastic and greeted me with a very sincere warmth,and we had a nice conversation about the area. He was very informative and suggested several local dining places very close to the property, I actually walked to one of his suggestions. The small house that I rented was very clean and the beds comfortable. I will definately stay at the Fox n Bear again! Thank you Serene for making my stay in Big Bear a very rewarding experience!

We booked a one night stay last minute and upon checking in Jamie the manager greeted us on arrival and was very friendly. The outside appearance was cute and there was assigned parking per cottage that was very convenient. The rooms were toasty and there was enough space for the four of us. At first glance it seemed like a cute affordable place to stay but upon further inspection we noticed that the floors were not swept or mopped. There was leftover trash and old food under the bed and in the corners. We got really grossed out and wondered what else wasn’t properly cleaned. We called Jamie and he came immediately to fix the issue. He swept and “mopped” (there was no mop so he used wet towels) A for effort but… if there’s no mop then how do the floors get cleaned?? He assured us that the cleaning lady had been there earlier. Not sure who is to blame, but the cleaning was not done properly. With that being said, every other part of our stay was great.

We found this property at a great price after looking around expedia. Read some reviews and thought they were ok, maybe a bit mixed. Finidng the place was pretty simple. Checking in was interesting. I walked around the cottages to find the "office". On the door was a number for 24/7 check in. I called it and the lady answered and asked if i was here. She opened the door and told us to come inside. I assume that was her living space/office. We walked in and it was a bit weird being in there, but whatever. She gave us the wifi password and the room door combo. Parking was nice and easy as there were spots designated for everyone. #2 was our cottage. Inside the room smelled like smoke due to the fireplace. After making a fire ourselves both nights, smoke filled the room(yes the port was open inside the fireplace), so the chiminey probably wasnt cleaned out on the inside and the windows had to be opened to help ventilate. The room was clean overall and very cozy. No worries about being cold overnight. The bed was super comfy as well as the couch. The lady brought us extra towels as well. There was a hair dryer, towels and shampoos. All the kitchen appliances and utencils as well as plates and cups were a plus. We had to clean some forks and cups as they were still a bit dirty. There was also leftover ice cream in the freezer from a stay before. The tv channels were plentiful as there were lots of free app options and movies. She hung up on me during check out, so we left at 1030.

I had a very disappointing experience booking a cabin for my daughter’s birthday through Expedia. I reserved a cabin that promised a kitchen and a shared space for our family of four, plus two small service dogs. When we arrived, we were given a completely different room—no kitchen, no matching amenities. They offered two separate cabins instead, for an extra $30, which we never agreed to. On top of that, they charged $30 for each service dog, despite Expedia stating no fee for service dogs. This was not only unfair but also ruined our plans. The service was unhelpful, and the experience did not match what was advertised. I would not recommend this place to others.
