We normally stay on the third floor with our dogs when we are at this hotel. This visit we were on the second floor which has not been renovated. The hallway carpet, walls, etc. are badly in need of replacement. That said, the rooms were VERY clean and well appointed. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. We'll be back.

Positive: Bar open Thursday through Saturday and Bartender makes a good drink. Staff was very kind. The Rest: elevator was scary at best. Hallways smelled like wet dog. Room heater did not work, even after asking to get fixed. People hanging out at the entrance drinking vodka and smoking. Water was brown for the 1st few minutes when turned on. Hot water took 10 minutes to heat up. If you use the gym, don't look at the ceiling. Definitely spent your money elsewhere.

Clean rooms, soft comfy beds and a balcony to watch drunk young people wreck E-bikes in downtown Boise, twice now. That's a funny laugh. I've stayed here for 4 or 5 years, will come again next year. Get to your room early, later night parking is further.

Although it is listed as having a restaurant on premises…it was not operating any of the time we were there. Although you could pre purchase breakfast thru Expedia…we were unable to use it, because kitchen closed by 9 am. Otherwise…I rate the staff as very helpful and friendly.

The location to downtown was exactly what we were looking for. The pictures online were very misleading. The hotel is very dated which is fine but not maintained well. The pool and hot tub were iffy at best, so we didn't dare it. The room floors were so sticky. The room had 1 hand towel, 3 bath towels and no washcloths for 2 people. Appreciated the breakfast daily - not fancy but it worked. The lounge was open Friday and Saturday so that was a fun surprise.

It looks like it’s in the middle of a renovation. The outside is pretty rough looking, it’s not in a great neighborhood… but then you go into the lobby, and it’s nice… but then you go to the hallway to the rooms and it’s scary with duct tape holding the carpet together… and then you go into the room, and it’s nice. So it’s nice in the spots that matter the most. The staff was super friendly, and everyone who we talked to who was also staying there were nice.

It was clean and the staff were very nice, but the elevator kept me up all night it made a horrendous sound every time it would go up and down and it did not seem OK. The fact that my room was right next to the elevator I had to listen to it all night was not OK.

This property is very dated. Carpet in hallways has tape across rips. Furniture in room was old and scratched up. We didn’t have hot water in our room but staff fixed that. Our room was clean and bed was comfortably. Pool itself was very clean but decor and patio furniture and covers were falling apart.

The Red Lion Boise Downtowner is in dire need of a renovation. The entry/ registration area/ breakfast area is not bad even nice but the hallway carpeting is a mess and a trip hazard and dirty. The a/c didn't work in our room. Luckily the staff let me use their office fan at 3am to help with the heat. I changed hotels for our second night and was given a refund for that night and 1/2 off for our first night. The staff was very helpful and kind to help me out with this fustrating stay.

Before arrival we booked online with Klarna. When we arrived at the hotel they said that there was a fee for incidentals that we didn't plan for and it wasn't communicated to us previous to arriving. We had to use three different cards. " We were just trying to escape for the weekend have a good time for my birthday, on the spur" We get to the room I quickly made sure to take a picture but there was a light bulb out. Oh I forgot to mention I paid for breakfast for two nights and breakfast was discontinued this second night meaning for the next morning, like. That wasn't mentioned to us either until arrival and we were downtown and had events that we needed to go to and so we just ended up going to Walmart getting a little food and filling the refrigerator we were grateful for the refrigerator being there and the microwave. First night went well, second night there was a loud dog barking in the room next to us and a man yelling apparently at his TV I don't know. Until 2:00 a.m.. mind you are next event meeting would early in the morning by 6:00 a.m. we needed to be up and showered and ready to go and now without breakfast. We woke up got ready to hop in the shower and we turned on the water for about 10 minutes and realized " there's no hot water" . So no hot shower before our event... during our stay we attempted to enter the hot tub area but nobody could figure out how to get into it. It wasn't inside the Red Lion hotel it was outside and nobody had the key for the deadbolt
