"It was a pleasant surprise to have a nice staff and a very clean facility. Room was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked more for the say for evening. Thank you Comfort Inn for providing a relaxing night stay."

"The house was nice enough. That wasn't the problem. The ad was misleading. We were 1.5 miles from the indoor and outdoor pools. There were no walking paths or sidewalks to the pool. The lake was not Lake Lure and we were also over a mile from it as well. The amenities were charged per person and we were charged for 3 full days even though we arrived after pool closing and had to check out by 10 on Monday. Pretty disappointed overall. Won't stay there again."

"During the week I stayed at the hotel, I developed a skin irritation on my body. I believe it was caused by the bed sheets, which were contaminated with bacteria. I took an antihistamine, and by the following week, I had recovered; I moved to another hotel and did not experience this problem again! I have never had this issue happen to me before!"

"We got to the motel around 8 PM Saturday night 5/16. I told the front desk that we were there to check in and made our reservations via Expedia. She asked me to give her my driver's license and I did. She looked at my license and told us we could not stay there because we lived to close to the motel. We said you got to be kidding! She said no that they have problems with local people staying there and creating problems where they have to call the cops. We live in Banner Elk which is about 50 miles from the motel. We told here that we have a boat on Lake James and had been on the lake all day and were going back to the lake tomorrow. Still in shock never having been treated like this in my life. I have traveled all around the US over the last 50 years. I finally asked her to call the manager or owners and explain the situation to them. She made a phone call and after explaining our situation to the person she called, they said if we would make a $100 damage deposit we could stay. Since I'm not a troublemaker and just wanted to spend the night and rest, I gave her my credit card and made the $100 deposit. You folks should let Expedia know about this policy, so it does create the same problem for the locals. I don't guess we'll be stay at the Comfort Inn in Marion anymore since they don't want my business. I don't know if the corporate people at Comfort Inn support this policy or if it's a local policy but I'm going to get in touch and let them know."

"The biggest complaint I have is Expedia says in a pop up window when on the site "what you see is what you pay- we're different". That is an outright lie. When I got to the property they charged me and additional $26 for "incidentals" referring to breakfast (which by the way looked terrible) While I don't eat breakfast, I shouldn't have to pay for it. I tried to book another property in Charlotte for another trip and in the small print it says, the property will charge an additional $50 for breakfast also referred to as "incidentals" So in short what you see IS NOT WHAT YOU PAY...and that statement is an outright lie. That seems like ammo for a legal proceeding to me!"
