"A very characterful building with old world charm of uneven floors and quirky corridors. Excellent central location for sightseeing with multi story cathedral car park with reasonably priced overnight parking within couple of mins walk. We ate Dinner and Breakfast in the hotel which was very good but multiple options in area including a lovely cafe opposite on Friar Street"

"I have thought long and hard about leaving a review for this stay. I believe if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. However i can say something nice so i will continue. Our arrival/first impression was very poor. The 'lady' who greeted us was rude,blunt and unwelcoming . The Hotel should check who was on duty on Monday 11th May at 4pm. I would advise they are sent on a hospitality refresher course. We weren't shown to our room, just told where it was. When i entered the room i cried it was dark,dingy and dated. We don't mind dated, this is an historic old building but it looked very 'unloved'. We would have addressed these issues but didn't feel able to due to the reception we had. Laterly in our stay we found other staff to be polite, and friendly. The barman and kitchen staff were lovely. My husband had a cooked full English breakfast which he said was really good. The door to our bathroom was really grubby with dirty fingerprints. The large shower head was dirty,i didn't shower because of this. On the morning of our departure we were given a continental breakfast which we took away with us. "

"Good place for overnight stay, staff helpful, food was fine and fairly priced."

"The hotel is in a great location on the river and the staff were extremely welcoming. I stopped in one of the cottages, the room needed a bit of TLC and some new furniture. The water didn't drain properly so you had to keep stopping the shower. The chair in the room had so many stains, I generally avoided it. The breakfast was great, but when you looked under the tables there was food on the floor and it wasn't from breakfast."

"No problem with parking, we were able to get a space each day."

"Everything just perfect for a short stay to see The Discworld art exhibition, Worcester Cathedral and the Victorian Market. All facilities at the Shrubbery were spot on and Lesley was the perfect landlady. One of my best short stays ever👍."
