"Beautiful setting. Restaurant was mixed- I had a vegetarian dish that was excellent, while my husband had a chicken Caesar salad that was inedible. Desk staff on arrival were cold & unwelcoming."

"A lovely hotel in the heart of Ambleside. Our balcony room was in an annexe just a few steps from the main hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the outdoor jacuzzi in the spa was a lifesaver in the immense heat we have just had. The food in the restaurant was lovely, breakfast was a continental buffet and hot from the menu and the dinner choice was very good and well priced."
