Casa Berno Panorama Resort

"This was a modern-style hotel but not very new anymore. The staff were really great. But for the price it was not perfect. The lobby was very underwhelming when you first enter. The rooms were very nice and spacious, but needed some maintenance. The view was a little disappointing as there was a haze over the lake that muted the view. The staff says that was normal for the view. They had useful free shuttles but the hotel was isolated, so you either needed a rental car or to use the shuttles frequently."

"For the Locarno Film Festival, the location was excellent with both free city buses and the festival shuttle coming right in front of the hotel. Rooms were in excellent shape, and the breakfast was very good. Staff were helpful and very friendly!"

"We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Garni Golf. Our room was especially large and the bathroom was a good size with a window giving additional daylight. The A/C in the room was perfect for the heat wave. The owners have gone to the effort of providing some thoughtful extras in the room, such as a bag containing beach towels. This was completely unexpected despite us planning a visit to the local lido. The little courtyard was lovely to have breakfast in. The location is perfect; just a few steps away from the waterfront and many restaurants. Although the hotel is located in the car free zone, it is only a few minutes walk away from the local bus stop or car drop off. The only thing I would note is that the owners/staff do not speak much English, although hotel information is available in English. This wasn't so much of a problem for us during our stay as we were able to get what we needed either in English or using my basic German. I would definitely return to Garni Golf should I ever go back to Ascona."

"The rooms were very clean and stylishly decorated. It reminded me of a luxury hotel from the 1980s. With one exception, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was quite good and plentiful. I wouldn’t have dinner there again. It was good, but way too expensive—as if it were Michelin-starred cuisine. All in all, the atmosphere at dinner was far too stuffy for my liking. Ascona and the surrounding area have many fantastic restaurants, and they’re all worth visiting. Overall, we found the hospitality to be excellent, and we’ll definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit."

"We loved the view, privacy, helpfulness of the staff when we had rental car issues and relaxing atmosphere at the Hotel Collinetta. The room was lovely and the air conditioning very much appreciated as it was quite warm for our stay. We ate at the restaurant several times during our 4 night stay and loved every meal. The breakfast was wonderful also. Collinetta was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Switzerland. We would definitely stay again."

"Upon check-in I had to submit my e-mail address for tickets but never received anything. Room was a bit small but OK and with a great view. Restaurant terrace and view excellent. Received a nice token birthday gift which was thoughtful. Staff members were all very friendly. Second night, someone in the neighborhood was blasting loud music all night, which cut into sleeping time. That was unfortunate. Overall, our stay was good."
