I was travelling with a group of ladies on a business trip around the UK and wanted somewhere close to the airport for our early flight home. We had visited 5 cities and mostly stayed in hotels, but I didnt want to face the stress of traffic with an early morning flight and hire car return. Hillcroft totally exceeded my expectations. Our rooms were warm and cozy, clean and fresh and felt like a step towards home at the end of a long trip. We booked the family barn, and were glad the three beds all had space and some privacy, so we didnt feel uncomfortable sharing with each other. The bathroom is super small, but top end, with a blissful shower and more towels that we needed. There were also some toiletries, which made our packing and re-packing easier. There was a little breakfast basket waiting for us in the kitchen, and some suggestions for take away food. It was nice to find a large selection of tea and coffee. We didnt get to take advantage of the pretty deck out the back to sit and look over the fields, but it was nice to sip tea and look out the window. Only downside, and its not worth knocking off a star - is that its hard to see the turn in the dark while driving down the A38. There was signage we could see in daylight, but other cars were parked around the entrance and its a dark stretch of road. A sign on the other side of the road would make a huge difference. Overall this was an amazing find, probably our best accommodation of the trip.
