Loved Motel Ely! Super friendly/helpful proprietor offered plenty of recommendations for restaurants. Rooms are not standard modern soulless fare. Poplar River Condos
Room was spotless, all nice furnishings, and had beautiful view of sunrise in the bay, from both windows and deck with table/chairs. Would definitely stay again, it's right down the hill from Lutsen. ski resort.
