Absolutely wonderful! Fantastic venue with exceptional period furniture mixed in with more practical everyday features. Staff went above and beyond from the minute we arrived and the food was excellent.

Excellent Stay

Second time I have stayed at Chantry House. Once again, a lovely stay. Very comfortable sized room. Always very clean and has a homely feel. Breakfast selection is excellent as is the breakfast itself. Highly recommended.

Best most comfortable hotel in central Bury

This is my go to hotel for staying in Bury St Edmunds. The rooms are always excellent and individual, clean and well stocked with coffee etc. the beds are amazingly comfortable. The freshly cooked breakfast is great, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Free off road parking is a great bonus and the hotel is a few minutes from the centre of the historic centre and the cathedral and abbey gardens. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We liked the location as it was very close to the centre. It was a quiet location which is good for a sound sleep. Easy parking. Comfortable mattress and bedding. All round friendly and helpful service. Delicious breakfast.

I arrived at the Chantry Hotel just after midday. The proprietor was happy for me to check-in straight away. He was also happy for me to leave my car there for a couple of hours after I’d checked out the following morning. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was first class. My room was on the second floor - the second set of stairs was a little narrow but fortunately I didn’t have much luggage for my overnight stay so it wasn’t a problem for me. I would definitely stay here again.

Cosy stay

Second time I've been to the Chantry. Rooms have a cosy, homely feel and bed very comfortable. Everything you need available in the room. Check in and out is easy. Breakfast has many options and is all excellent quality. Premium feel.

Well worth staying

This was my second stay, the first being several years ago. My room was comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was very nice indeed. Other than that, I had little interaction with the hotel and staff.

Warm welcome from all members of staff. Very helpful. Good breakfast albeit slightly limited in choice compared to some. However a very enjoyable stay and would definitely use the hotel again.
