โWe love to stay here when visiting Black Mountain. The only thing I could say that might need improvement is the caulk in our shower. It needs replacing as it looked moldy.โ
โThis is a beautiful hotel that showcases the mountains in its decorating theme. Rooms are large and well appointed. The staff is consistently wonderful - we have stayed here many times throughout the years. It's our first choice when we come this way. โ
โThere wasnโt anything to do in the area since this area was hit from the storm and crews were completing cleanup and restoration. But the hotel was very nice and we enjoyed our stay.โ
โWe really enjoyed staying at The Monte Vista during the Sourwood Festival. It was great to walk to town to eat and attend the festival. The hotel is old but very charming. It has a lot of stairs and no TV in some rooms, so be sure to book a room accordingly.โ
โIt was only an overnight stay, and the room was a bit spartan. However, it was quite clean and everything worked well. One a very minor problem, as noted by others, is that the toilet required a long flush or multiple flushes. My problem is that I forgot to ask for additional towels. I checked in at night and by the time I noticed that I need extra towels, I didn't think anyone would be around who could fulfill that request.โ
โThe hotel is clean and staff friendly. The bed is a little soft for my taste but that is a personal thing. I love all the access points for plugging in phones, headphones, etc โ
