Stayed 4 times in 2 weeks whilst working in the area and found the hotel to be just perfect. Dining was a pleasure, staff were great and room was comfy and well equipped. Would defo stay here again

Nice stay great location

Great location and comfortable room, but our room was a bit tired. Didn't appreciate being woken up around 6am with the bins being emptied outside below our window. We would definitely stay again but ask for a different room.

Excellent Hotel with very friendly staff

A great pub and inn. Would totally recommend. Meal was delicious - one of the best we’ve had on our trip. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Clean and comfortable room with everything you need.

Great overnight stop.

Lovely rest stop. Nice to have a private chalet away from the pub and noise. Continental breakfast was amazing which was included. Upgrade to full English for £10.50. My husband said it was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to Audley End which is why we chose it.

Been staying at the Red Lion on and off for a while now. Can’t fault the staff, and the rooms are lovely and always clean. The food in the restaurant is also amazing. Always stay here when I am down this way.

Rooms and public areas are somewhat dated. Continental Breakfast left in the room was poor to say the least OK for a one night stay Website unclear as indicates check in only from 6pm whereas the pub is open all day

Great value & friendly staff

second visit to friendly, comfortable pub. Traveling on my own, I booked a twin room but on arrival I was offered a free upgrade to a king room. Very comfortable & although situated near the outside drinking area, being October there were not any late night drinkers. I was offered a table in either the bar or restaurant for my evening meal. The menu covers all options & the specials were also appealing. Excellent food & service from friendly staff. Sunday breakfast was from 9am however I wanted to be off by 8.45am. Although hot food was not available I was offered my pick of the pastries, fruit etc. Great value for money & friendly place to stay.

Was very disappointed that it was continental breakfast,although think that was the fault of Expedia who we booked with not stating the fact in the booking. Expected full breakfast and got 1 slice toast,1 croissant a banana and a yoghurt. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to pay £10.50 and then didnt get the continental. Better booking at Holiday inn and Hilton for the price, with a fantastic breakfast included and better facilities. Will think twice about booking with Expidia.
