"We were on a bucket list visit to the D-Day beaches. We took our car on the ferry from Portsmouth to Ouistreham, about a 30 minute drive from the hotel, where there is free parking.
This hotel was a short walk from the remains of the Mulberry harbour and the museum. There are numerous museums, relics and cemeteries within 30 minutes drive.
Inland there are the historic towns of Caen, Rouen, Falaise and Bayeux (although the tapestry is currently in the British Museum).
The motel-style property is run by a family who could not be more helpful. A breakfast buffet had a wide selection of pastries, cheeses and meats. The room was clean and bright with a double and a single bed, TV and kettle.
The restriction on checkin to 4-7pm might be a little inconvenient."
