This is definitely a natural wonderland for a great array of wildlife that can be enjoyed right from our lodge and even better when you go out on one of the wonderful day and night tours we have to offer. of course, we are surrounded by Jungle, and it is very quiet without the cars, the horns, and Busy city ambiance, so feeling surrounded by Jungle and hearing the sounds it makes, is one of the most wonderful things about venturing out of our comfort Zones to a most Unique Rainforest in Costa Rica. Thank you for giving that experience a chance, and I am delighted to hear you enjoyed it!

Dear Mr. Volker, I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Mawamba, and the rainforest too. thank you For your observations which are very important to us. Mawamba Lodge is a very serious tour operator, with more than 30 years of experience in Tortuguero, we understand we are in the middle of the rainforest and thus, the Rain here is a factor we work with. We dont opérate tours when the conditions are not viable. If theres thunderstorm, Lighting, heavy Winds or any other situation that may put your safety in risk, we would be the first to cancel and return. Our guides and staff is trained on the subject too. Although we expect no animals to get in anyones room, and we perform Daily Cleaning into all rooms, sometimes we cant control little animals, like "geckos" which are very common in Costa Rica to get in houses. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Thank you

Our Focus is for our guests to have a wonderful time, enjoy the Beautiful scenery and activities that are available in Tortuguero to discover. This, include, among others, boat trips, kayking, canoeing, night tours, walks, hikes and much more, including the turtle nesting tours available at this time of the year. Of course, the activities do have a related cost but if you prefer to just stay behing and not do any of them, you can always enjoy the facilities, including the swimming pool, the Lounge, the bar, the hammocks, the gardens which offer wonderful opportunities for nature and wildlife discoveries, the relaxing area by the beach, do some beach strolling and much more. There is much to do here, whether a tour in the outdoors or at the facilities. We hope you had a chance to do some of them and discover the area. Thank you

Our location in Tortuguero is definitely an asset, very close to town, withing wallking distance, but offering the peacefulness and tranquility of being a mile away (1 1/2 kilometer). We are delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the experience, the widlife, the service and the activities.It is definitely important to add more chairs to our pool area, and will be doing so in the following days!. Sorry to hear you didnt enjoy our restaurant food that much, we work Hard to keep on improving and adding more options to the menu. The dogs in Tortuguero is a fact. Being Close to town, were they reside and most have an Owner, but live freely in town. They come from town, and sometimes people bring them back with them to the Lodge. We do ask everybody not to feed them to avoid them from coming, but since many people do, they keep on coming! We take this opportunity to ask all guests to please not feed or pet the dogs they find around or any other widlife as to that matter. Thank you so much for your visit, once again.

Sorry to hear there were problems in your bathroom, we will make sure to look into it and correct any problems. yes, the path to the Village is not lit. The reason for this is the turtles that come to nest here, no one is allowed to have lights that interrumpt or head towards the ocean, as these distract turtles and make them return to ocean Without nesting. At Night, we recommend taking a taxi-boat to town instead of walking, specially being in the Jungle. Remember there are nocturnal animals that come out - so its best to take boats than walking. During daytime is perfect for walking by. Thank you!
