The room was outdated, with poor sound insulation. We could hear the room next door watching bbc news. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom a good size, but the shower pressure was tragic.
The room appeared clean and the bathroom was clean, but there were stains on the carpet, and it didn’t feel hoovered properly.
At check in, the staff was on the phone, instructing us to check in via screen. No one informed us how to get to our room, which given the hotel has a maze like structure was tricky.
Room cleaning was strange. We got fresh towels, but the dirty ones weren’t removed, the bed wasn’t made, and nothing was cleaned for the 3 nights.
Breakfast was included and a good standard English breakfast offering, with fresh pastries etc.
Parking was convenient.
We will not be returning to this hotel when visiting Carlisle.
