"Saving grace is the breakfast served right on time and location is really close to San Marco square but otherwise, the building is really old, the bed is unstable and at one point, I saw an insect (cockroach?) crawling on the floor. At $200/night, I expected at least a well lit room with a good mattress/bed. I wish I took pictures of the real state of the room vs the one shown online. "

"Venice is an expensive city. If you are looking for safe, budget accommodation in close proximity to the main attractions.....this is it. Rooms are clean and spacious. Even though we prefer our own bathroom, the shared bathrooms were very clean, and were never occupied when we needed them."

"This is perhaps the worst hotel experience ever. First of all, this is not even a hotel or hostel or a b&b. It is simply a flat where the owner himself (a rather old italian man) lives and rents out two spare rooms. No website bears an indication of this! In real life the flat looks nothing like the pictures. The rooms dont lock, or better to say the man does not give you the key to lock your room. The bathroom is shared. The man himself hardly speaks any other languages other than Italian and...

"Good but to many stairs"

"We got a nice upgrade to a family suite that was very comfortable. The WiFi worked well on the 3rd floor; he had installed a repeater. There was TV, but we didn’t speak Italian so we didn’t watch. The bathroom was a little small, but at least it was an ensuite. It was an easy walk to the vaporetto stop on the north as well as the south side of Venice. Nicola was very friendly and helpful and available whenever we needed him. It is a very nice property. Venice is a city of lots of walking!"

"It’s a spacious one bedroom apartment for three of us. We stayed in the Master bedroom and our teen boy stayed in the comfort double soft bed located the living room. There is a good size kitchen and lounge areas. Strongly recommended to a family with 2 kids. "

"Easy in and out with friendly and efficient service from Hotel Scandinavia, 1 minute away. Great location down a very quiet alley, 1 minute from Campo Santo Maria Formosa, less than 10 minutes feom Rialto and St. Mark's Square. All meals were away from tourist zone, 1-5 minute away from the apartment--Gondola ride right from the Campo as well. Apartment was clean and new; very convenient for us with young son to eat a few meals in and to take breaks midday just a few minutes from the sights....
