“The Bell Inn was gorgeous it would have received a 5 star rating if it wasn’t for the staffing issues. Housekeeping had failed to turn up that day and they hadn’t realised until nearly checking time so we never got into our room until 5.45. The staff dealt with this delay professionally and we were served with complimentary drinks. This caused us a bit of an issue as we had to leave at 6.15 for a meal elsewhere. Would definitely stay here again if in this area.”

The service in the restaurant was very friendly but extremely slow. The food was rather mediocre. Breakfast was actually quite poor. The hotel is very large and set in its own grounds and gardens. For my stay it was very quiet - I can't comment on when it is full and busy. “Booked two rooms for ourselves and relatives for a three night stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Hall is an old building with lots of character and has those little corridors running off in many directions which I find intriguing. Our room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean with a good size shower and quite modern. The windows in the building are the old style metal frame single glazing so we're difficult to open and you can hear outside noise so if you're a light...

“A truly delightful hotel in a convenient location with excellent staff and facilities. Impossible to fault overall - 2 tips… dont park under the trees in front of the building. I dont know what the birds eat, but they eat A LOT of it. Then theres steps….pack light, you’ll be hauling your luggage up a LOT of steps :-) - its a 13th century manor house, lifts werent a “thing” !”

“Well positioned in the town. Impressive looking building, lovely vibe inside and gorgeous outdoor seating area. We were staying in room 12 which is very small. It was a hot night, so the room was baking, hence we had the window open but a gang of 12-15 pigeons live (noisily) just outside the window! The windowsill was covered in bird poo which was not nice. Shower great and nice to have an Nespresso machine and complimentary water. Bed and pillows too soft for me, but personal choice.”
